About: Lydford Castle is one of two castles that have existed in Lydford what is left is still impressive and dominant even though it now has no roof. The other, older one, is now unfortunately totally destroyed above ground but its earth covered foundatio......

About: On the occassion that we took this photograph we only managed to see the castle from the road. Even then it is an imposing building which today is used for wedding, conferences and special events.

Castle Entrance

About: Bickleigh Castle is a remnant of a fortified house which is set in a wonderful position among woods in the valley of the River Exe. This imposing archway was as far as we went as we did not see anyone to ask if it was OK for us to take photographs.
