About: The Barbican area at Plymouth is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. On a nice sunny day it is also a good place to have a meal at one of the outside tables.

About: The Red Rock Cafe at Dawlish gets its name from the famous Langstone Rock which is indeed very red. Unfortunately it was closed when we visited but they did seem to have a very reasonably priced menu.

Lifeguard Hut

About: Croyde is a very popular beach with surfers and during the season the lifeguard is in attendance during the day. The dunes to the back of the beach make an excellent wind break and a nice soft place to sit.
