About: The barbican area of Plymouth is well worth a visit it is a very short distance from the city centre and is a wonderful place to stroll around and enjoy the sights. There are lots of places to sit outside and any number of bars, cafes and restaurants......

Busy Harbour

About: Brixham is still very much a busy fishing harbour but there is also a good choice of boat trip companies at Brixham and there are several ferry companies operating boat trips out to Dartmouth and Totnes.

About: The Golden Hind Ship, is well remembered as the ship captured by Frances Drake and on which he was knighted by Elizabeth I on 4th April 1581. It was reconstructed and now sits in Brixham Harbour

About: In our guide book Brixham is described as the prettier of the Devon Trio that include Torquay and Paignton. We don't know if everyone would agree with this but looking at a photograph of the harbour it is easy to see why this statement was made.
