About: We visited South Milton Sands earlier in the year and it was fairly quiet with only a few people walking their dogs etc. Now with the fantastic summer weather dogs are banned and the children must be taking full advantage of the many rock pools.

About: South Milton Sands is also known as Thurlestone Beach because of the rock at its centre. It is reachable down a maze of narrow lanes and there is a Lifeguard during peak season. It is possible to walk along the South West Coast Path to nearby Bantha......

About: This photograph was taken in the early evening and most of the children and their fishing nets had gone home. Rock pools are fascinating places and lifting up a stone can reveal all sorts of little sea creatures

About: When the tide is out there are numerous rock pools for the children to explore and try to catch small sea creatures in their nets. The rock with the hole must have been photographed from every angle.

About: The village of South Milton is located three miles west of Kingsbridge in the South Hams area of South Devon. It was a bright but somewhat cold day when we visited and the beach was fairly quiet.
