About Sticklepath Devon.
Sticklepath lies just over 3 miles South East of Okehamptonand the name is derived from the Saxon staecle, meaning steep, The village is on the outermost edge of Dartmoor beside the River Taw. from Sticklepath it is possible to enjoy the delights of the northern reaches of Dartmoor, walking or indeed horse riding along the bridleways and lanes. The highest and most dramatic area of Dartmoor is not far away, High Willhays and Yes Tor rise to height of 2,038 and 2,029 respectively. |
