Bigbury on sea is located five and half miles West of Kingsbridge, to get to Bigbury Beach from the A379 between Modbury and Aveton Gifford, turn on to the B3392 to Bigbury, pass through the village and carry on to the wonderful beach.
The beach at Bigbury is lovely fine sand with only a small amount of shingle. Run by South Hams District Council the services include, toilets, disabled visitors' facilities, disabled access to the beach, and a slipway. During the summer months there are first-aid and lifeguards facilities available. Burgh Island is accessible across a sand spit at low tide and via tractor at high tide.
Surfing is a very popular pastime at Bigbury and the South Devon Discovery Surf School offers a wide variety of surfing lessons to suit all abilities.
Bigbury is undoubtedly one of the South Hams finest resorts and offers everything from spectacular coastal walks, windsurfing canoeing and there is a golf course nearby.
