About: The breakwater at Mount Batten is a great place for a leisurely stroll or to enjoy a spot of fishing. On the day that we visited there we saw several mackerel caught in a very short space of time.

About: Visitors to Mount Batten Tower could marvel at the view and enjoy their day out but in 1665 when this tower was built defence of the realm was the intention. The idea was to construct a fort around the tower but this never took place.
