About: The splendid Church of St Mary the Virgin is located on the central Minster Green. It is the oldest building in Axminster and the church is almost probably the only one in the country carpeted with the famous Axminster carpet. The impressive organ has recently been renovated and retains many of the old pipes but has added new ones to maintain the superb tonal quality.
